We now believe that we will have 4 band members, a drummer, a keyboard player, [Dan Morrow] a bass player and a singer/lead guitarist. The other band members are as yet still undecided. The band will all be male, and for further information on the band please follow this link. The style of the band will be having is the alternative/indie style and all band members will be wearing similarly styled clothes.
The song that we will be doing is going to be Bombay Bicycle Club - Shuffle. We believe that this song gives us lots of opportunities to do whatever we want really in terms of what we include in the video. Our video will come under the category of disjuncture, the video won't really resemble much of the lyrics of the song, however sometimes we will aim to show the lyrics but in different ways. This gives us the freedom of being able to make a video that will be fun, fast, slightly random at times, quirky and hopefully we will be able to get some moving images to give it the 'arty' effect.
We will be aiming to appeal people looking for an indie/alternative music genre and who fall within the 16-25 age range both male and female. Our band are called LA Unknown, this also explained in further detail in this post.
In terms of location, we intend to have lots of different locations, both inside and outside. The thinking behind this is that it keeps all options open to us. The performance will most likely be inside, with the more random and fun aspects being filmed outside. We like the idea of the band performing the track live, so we will probably have a set venue for that which we can go back too throughout the video. We very much doubt that we will be able to actually shoot it all within the same day, as there are locations such as train stations that we plan to visit after or before we shoot the video. The plan is to either drive, or get the train to somewhere such as Birmingham to give us the opportunity to shoot in lots of different and unsual places.
good work so far on all elements of your research and planning. what will ensure the top grades is a consistency in depth which you are doing in most cases. make sure you have explained all your choices and keep linking them to your music video, digipak and magazine advert (don't forget this aspect). well done on what you've achieved to this point.
ReplyDeleteyour storyboard is vital now. this will show whether your idea is a good one or not. because your idea has a freedom to it you will need to plan (and storyboard) extremely carefully to ensure it doesn't end up being nonsensical.
