Anthony Goodwin Music Video Theory

Anthony Goodwin suggested that there were 3 main formats behind music videos.

1. Amplification. This is the idea that you use images to add extra, deeper meaning to the song and video.
2. Illustration. This is literally just having your video show a literal translation of the lyrics.
3. Disjuncture. This is where you use images and clips that don't really fit your lyrics, however they do sometimes have hidden meanings.
