Before creating our music video we decided to conduct some market research on the genre we are looking to use. The genre we have chosen is Indie/Alternative, we have chosen this genre as we both share a common interest in the gerne, and feel this genre will represent us in the best way possible.
The Indie/Alternative genre is extremely popular at this moment in time, with bands such as Bombay Bicycle Club, Friendly Fires, Two Door Cinema Club, The Strokes and Arctic Monkeys dominating the festival scene this year, the indie/alternative genre has been represented extremely well across all festivals and have attracted huge audiences.
It has also recently become clear that the inde/alternative genre has had a huge effect on the way people dress. People have began to copy the style of bands such as Bombay Bicycle Club and The Maccabees.
Looking at the Itunes download it is clear to see that the Indie/Alternative genre is again being well represented. When looking at the Itunes songs download chart Adele - Someone Like You is in first position with Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks in second. Other Artist such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Coldplay also occupying the top 50.
When looking at the album download the genre is strongly represented with Red Hot Chilli Pepper, Bon Iver, Foster The People and the Adele all coming inside the top 10.
